Civil Gore Podcast

Mar 16, 2018

We made it to 50! This week we celebrate a milestone for the podcast by looking at one of our favorite horror movies of all time, THE SHINING! This Stanley Kubrick masterpiece continues to thrill audiences nearly 40 years after hitting theaters.

In our FIRST CHOP, Tim dares to watch THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES, digs up THE MUMMY'S HAND, then rounds things off with a couple of werewolf films - NIGHT OF THE WEREWOLF and WEREWOLF OF LONDON! We also check out Jeremy Bates' horror novel SUIDICE FOREST!

Brian has some HALLOWEEN 2018 news, and discusses an upcoming NOSFERATU remake by one of our favorite directors! Then we'll check out some true-life horror with a new Golden State Killer documentary.

In our DISCMEMBERMENT, we've got titles ranging from 1957 to 2018, including a couple of neat Shout Factory releases. We'll also discuss Ghost Adventures' Zak Bagans' new film - come at me bro!

Then it's time for lots of SHINING talk. We both adore this film in which the Joker and Olive Oyl take care of a hotel that happens to be haunted by creepy twins and naked old women. What's not to love?

We'll round things off by thanking the folks who got us from Episode 1 to Episode 50. Podcasting is hard work, and would not be possible without all the folks we mention. Thanks so much for your support and inspiration. Check for special audio messages dispersed throughout the show from friends and fans - thanks to everyone who contributed!
